Fiercely protective of his pride, or family unit, male lions patrol a vast territory normally covering about 100 square miles (260 square kilometres).
 
  African elephants are the largest of Earth's mammals. Their enormous ears help them to keep cool in the hot African climate.

Two of the Rhinoceros species are native to South Africa. The black rhinoceros are critically endangered and the white is registered as vulnerable, with roughly 14,500 remaining in the wild.  
The African Buffalo or Cape buffalo is a large African bovid. It is up to 1.7 meters high, 3.4 meters long. Savannah type buffaloes weigh 500-900 kg, with only males, normally larger than females, reaching the upper weight range

African Leopard

The Leopards success in the wild owes in part to its opportunistic hunting behaviour, its adaptability to a variety of habitats and its ability to move at up to approximately 60 kilometres (37 miles) an hour. The leopard consumes virtually any animal it can hunt down and catch.
